Different people have different ideas about what is needed to succeed in a business or life in general. We are all made with different skill sets, expectations and experiences. What matters most is how do we move forward and create the kind of life we have always wanted?
After all, we are in business because we are fulfilling a dream. Dreams of becoming our own boss, running a business the way we envision and having the time and money freedom. As business owners how do we get inspiration to get going each day? Where and what do we turn to when the going seems rough?
The late Steve Jobs once said:
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’ be trapped by dogma- which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
That’s one inspirational quote that we can glean from Steve Jobs and others who have paved the way in the entrepreneurship world. Your business matters! It may be your source of income, a way to help others achieve better health and wellness, fulfill your life long dream or it may be your voice to reach out to those who need to hear your message.
You and I know to run the race as a business owner. We need more than just a dream, skill sets and experience. We need inspiration on a daily basis. Where do you find them?
One of the ways to get inspiration on a daily basis is through great quotes like the above. You may have found out that most business owners tweet (come follow us!) and post about them all day long. Some of us who are Bible believers may quote from the Bible.
These positive words will propel us to think of the possibilities and motivates us to be open to change and new experiences, which eventually may lead to a strong drive to act on a goal that came from the inspiration.
Do you see the positive cycle?
How about autobiographies, books and people who have overcome challenges? Could that bring us more inspiration? I thought about Dr. Temple Grandin, a professor and doctor of Animal Science who was diagnosed with autism and brain damage as a child. She had gone through challenges and succeeded in her life work and inspired many to see autism differently.
Who could have imagined a person diagnosed with autism and brain damage could become a doctor and have impacted and changed thousands of lives?
Whether you are a beginner or seasoned online business owner, getting inspiration each day will help increase optimism, prepare your mind to think of possibilities and act on the possibilities. Inspiration will also help improve our self esteem and wellbeing.
